Cheers bro ^^ ive done it for a job opportunity with Edge entertainment/FFG but its not good enough so im doing another 3 more to prove i can work with different kinda styles etc xD Hope i get it but i really doubt it
OH an thakns a lot fro commenting man! your like the number one celebrity for me xD
dude if u dont make it thers a better oportnity cumin ,, eventualy well be as good as the masters ,, if i see their work its not just the quality but rather the quantity ,, and that just shows me that we just need to go on and produce work ,, if we hav enough awsum work ,, things will start working for us
Yeah man, wishful thinking, gotta make that dream come true man, lifelong effort u get me. Yeah thats what ive been doing man, i have done like 8 sketches 2 final value maps detailed sketches, and another 3 half detailed speedpainting type of thing im gonna go and build up some more, just gotta keep pumpin em out, might go for another oe today and then start finalising some other work
yea dude always good to rework old work , cuz half of the actual work is already done,, oh and do you buy the imagine fx magazine cuz a good thing to do is send your stuff in so they can put it in their mag
Ah yeah been readin imaginefx for ages now Yeah always wanted to send in my stuff, but never got round to it because i feel im not good enough :S If i get some freetime soon neough then i migiht consider doing a bit of promotion stuff ^^ but at gotta keep on workin on these things, still got like 2-3 concepts i want to get done before tomorrow to for this job thing, if god wiling it goes my way whch im skeptical on :/
AWWWESSOMMMMEEEE.... looks sick man, You've gotta stand a pretty good chance with this one man! Best of luck though, will be sick if you get it. But if not, least you've got a contact out of it man, which is just as valuable in the long run.
Thanks a lot man! But nah its got a lotta problems still man, loss of focus, over rendered and doesnt seem to flow well imo, just put too much in and the result was overdone, though saying that i still feel i leanrt a lot, but i gotta another chance and working on the next one gonna work on the flow and stuff and try to make it free from mistakes, even if it lacks detail
But yeah man, this guys great so will definitely be a good link
Hmm yeh i guess i see what you mean man, but its still pretty good. Ah if you have one more left to do, then yeh you should definitly try to focus on where you went wrong on this one - even if the details now as good atelast you've shown in this one that you can do the details, allow them to complement eachother
haha yeah man that is the plan, in this next one im gona focus on focus xD and lighting and give it a professional look idk how but im gonna try xD As much as id like to say this next piece im wokring naturally, but im putting in new techniques in, and got some other pro artist refs xD So hopefully can ge it right, though i feel weird, because im sued to rendering everything :S
Fair enough man, sometimes sticking to the same stuff can get boring and stale y'know?
Also, talking about new techniques.... i'm following the instructors (luke church) technique for this piece, because he said we have to... but i'm really digging his way of painting shadows n things, he will start very hard and aggressive and then tone it down after..
For example, when putting in cast shadows, make a new layer and grab a 100% hard brush with no pressure sensitivity and then paint in all of the cast shadows very harshly, then once they are all in the right place / shape, tone them down to the strenght that you want them by adjusting the opacity on the layer. Then grab your rubber (with a soft brush) and soften up the edges of the shadows that shouldn't be as aggressive.
It sounds odd, but it seems to work really well - i've just finished putting in the cast shadows on my character and its great, it gives a very cohearant look to your shadows, and you get a good variety of hard and soft edges too, might be worth giving a shot
whoa that sounds like a flipping great idea man! i gona have to try it out man.
Yeah man ive been wokring on another technque too! wokring strauht from colour etc, going all freestyle on it, but starting dark and building highlights up, painting with lower opacity overlays etc, this one is a very odd style but i think im getting the hang of it man, building up the painting fromt he focal points and out
Its reminiscent of 2 great artist im reffing off, i think im getting to know how they work man, ahh also im changin my bruhs setting often as i work, getting used to the standard round brush, and then dual brush it with a texture map, same with a rectangle brush, and then changig the opacity on and off, amalgamating different brushsets etc, its working great so far man, im getting much faster at these concepts, im already half way into this new concept already, and i can pretty much upload it straight away as its got more of that loose detailing. cant describe it haha, hey u got MSN insant messenger/skype? ill show u the wip!!
